FRENCH RIVIERA MARATHON 2024

3...2...1... Go!

 

This year, as every year since 2008, the legendary Marathon des Alpes-Maritimes will be taking place, linking the cities of Nice and Cannes. 

Since its inception, more than 175,000 runners from 70 different nations have competed over all the distances on offer. 

 

The race will start on 3rd November at 8am in front of the Palais de la Méditerranée in Nice.

The finish line will be located on the Croisette in front of the Hotel Martinez.

 

THE EVENTS

• Marathon 

42.195 km of "pure pleasure" (according to the organisers) along the coast from Nice to Cannes.

• 2 x 21.1 km

This option allows you to run the same route as the marathon runners, each doing half the course. 

1st Relay : Nice - Antibes 

2nd Relay : Antibes - Cannes

• 20 km

This event follows the same route as the others, but finishes after 20km in front of the famous Baie des Anges Marina in Villeneuve-Loubet. 

• Marathon Relay 

Teams of 3 to 6 players pass the baton to each other at 5 relay points along the course.

• Handisport Race

Handisport participants (hand bike or hand cycling) will have an early start at 7.57 am and will take the same route as the other competitors to reach Cannes. 

A specific ranking will be published on the event's website.

 

Fun fact

The blue line drawn on the ground at most marathons indicates the ideal trajectory for runners to follow in order to cover the 42.195 km in the least amount of time.

Between sky and sea, the Côte d'Azur is often associated with the colour blue. That's why, for this 15th edition, the organising committee is inviting participants to run in blue. Athletes will be able to play the game and wear a garment or accessory in this colour. 

 

Last training session

Every year, the Breakfast Run brings together between 200 and 300 runners for a final training session on the famous Promenade des Anglais. It's a joyful way of getting into the mood for the race ahead.

Free and open to all, the Breakfast Run starts at 10am on Saturday 2nd November in front of the entrance to the partners' village at the Hyatt Regency Palais de la Méditerranée in Nice. It's a 4-5km run to get you in the mood for the big start the next day!

 

Registration

Race open to all (with or without a licence) with an age limit depending on the difficulty of the event (parental authorisation required for minors).

The price of a race number starts at €32 for the 20 km and increases according to the distance and number of participants. 

Note that prices increase the closer you get to the start of the race, so don't wait to register. 

 

Practical information

Your race number will act as your ticket, giving you unlimited access to TER SNCF trains all day on 3rd November, between Nice and Cannes, in both directions!
